Hi Stu

I was wondering if you might comment on an error I receive when I hit f9 to calculate the fields. I get the error when the 10 trades are complete or not.

Run-time error '1004' unable to set the hidden property of the range class

thanks in advance, and thanks for the great work you have done for us all.

Zenwalk: The Targets and stops for the NQ need to be set to points, so T1 of 10 ticks = 2.5 points.

Newtrader: The targets and stops are set on Week 1 and they copy from their onto weeks 2 - 5.

Hello Ian,

I do not agree because the $ result is wrong. If I go to T1 of 10 ticks in the NQ and then stop out be+1 with 4$ of commission per contract and halfturn it is:

1st contract 10 ticks = 50$
2nd contract 11 ticks(be+1) = 55$
commission 2 contracts 2 halfturns = 4x4$ = 16$
-------------------------------------------------
result = 50$ + 55$ - 16$ = 89$

Thanks in advance.

Zenwalk: BE+1 is 1 tick, not 11, so would give you $5 and would make the calculation correct.

Nadone, i have had this issue once before with someone else although never had it myself. Can you explain in a little more detail:-
1. When it occurs, i.e. only on calculations, when the open/close the spreadsheet etc.
2. What version of windows your running and what version of Excel you have
3. Whether you get a debug/close box appear when this happens
4. Whether this stops you from entering further data

Thanks

Stu

Hi Stu

1. it occurs when I save and calculate
2. I have the problem on win 2000 running office 2000, also same problem on my mac runing office 2000
3. I get a debug window which brings me into your code and highlights the code Rows(hiddenRow).EntireRow.Hidden = False. It pops up 6 times if I click End.
4. It stops me from entering any futer data after row 10.

Thanks in advance

Having trouble following the results I am getting in the work book.

Attaching a .ppt screen capture of Week 4 for a ER ZLR short.

Since bar open was 699 my first target is 1 (10 ticks) and the managed exit 2 is 699.6 (a loss of 6 ticks), I would expect the workbook to show +1 in "Exit Results" (line 53 col S) and +.4 in "ES1" ( line 2 col P)

Looks like the program has calculated a loss of 1 on the first contract.

What am I missing?

Thx, Josey. Seems to work but not clear on why one would indicate a long when it is a short?

Sorry DonR,

I looked at it wrong. Dyslexia can be a wonderful thing... You are right, it looks like it didn't calculate T1 correctly.

Nadone, this now makes sense. As i said i had this issue once before with someone else. They were also running Excel Version 2000.

I do not have this version of excel so it is difficult to test. It does seem this is where the problem is. It is to do with the auto hiding rows for trades 11-30.

I am sure if you were to upgrade to excel 2003 or 2007 you would not have an issue.

In any case, what i will do is recreate the workbook without the auto hiding rows.
You would then bot get the error, (the only disadvantage would be, your screen would show all 30 rows for each day!)

DonR, i have recreated your trade and yes this can cause a problem. I had not factured in the possibility of reaching your target and then getting out for a loss, which we all know can happen if you get a slip, (or indeed if your strategy allows it).

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have already worked out the new code to calculate this. It will be in the New Version, out this weekend.
